Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how CrewFit+ ("we", "us", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the CrewFit+ mobile application.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information so the app can function:
- Account information. Email address, display name, and a hashed password when you create an account. Optional profile fields such as height, current weight, and fitness goals if you choose to provide them.
- Workout activity. Workouts you complete, sets, reps, weights lifted, durations, and personal records you generate while using the app.
- Run route data. When you record or save a run, we store the route distance, duration, pace, and the GPS polyline (the geographic path of the run) so you can review and share it. Routes you submit for inclusion in our hotel route library are reviewed by us before being published to other users.
- Nutrition and hydration data. If you use CrewNutrition features, we store the meals you log (foods, portions, calories, and macronutrients), your water/hydration entries, and any nutrition goals you set (calorie target, macro splits, water goal).
- Body metrics. If you log weigh-ins, we store each entry (weight and timestamp) so you can view your progress trend.
- Location (precise, while in use). If you grant permission, we use your device location to detect when you arrive at a partner hotel, to suggest nearby workouts and run routes, and to record the GPS path of a run you choose to track. Location is only accessed while the app is open. We do not access your location in the background and we do not use location for advertising or tracking.
- Subscription and purchase information. When you purchase CrewFit+, CrewRun, CrewNutrition, or a one-time unlock, Apple provides us a receipt that we verify with Apple to grant access. We do not receive your credit-card or payment-method details. Apple handles all payment processing.
- Device and diagnostic information. Basic device model, operating-system version, app version, build number, and crash diagnostics, used to fix bugs and improve reliability.
- Content you submit. If you submit a run route, equipment update, photo, or feedback message, we store the content you submit so we can review and publish it.
- Social connections. If you add friends inside the app, we store the friendship link so we can show their shared activity to you and yours to them.
Some of the information above (weight, meals, water intake, run activity) is health- and fitness-related. We collect it only to deliver the workout, nutrition, and progress-tracking features you actively use, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
How We Use Information
- To deliver core app functionality (saving workouts, tracking progress, recommending content, validating subscriptions).
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and measure reliability.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Third-Party Services
CrewFit+ uses a small number of third-party services to function:
- Apple (App Store and StoreKit). Handles all payments and subscription billing for CrewFit+, CrewRun, CrewNutrition, and any one-time purchases. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
- Mapbox. Renders the small static map thumbnails shown next to run-route cards. Your device requests these thumbnail images directly from Mapbox, so Mapbox may receive the route's approximate geographic area when a thumbnail is loaded. Mapbox is not used to render the full-screen route map; that view is drawn by Apple Maps via the system map component on iOS. Subject to Mapbox's privacy policy.
- Google Maps Platform. Used by us (server-side only, never from your device) during initial hotel-data setup and ongoing data maintenance to look up hotel reference photos and geocoordinates. It is not called during normal app use, and your device does not communicate with Google.
- Cloud infrastructure. Our servers run on Railway and Vercel for hosting and on PostgreSQL for storage.
Data Retention
We keep your account information and fitness, nutrition, run, and progress data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account), which permanently removes your account, profile, workouts, sets, weigh-ins, meals, water logs, friendships, and run routes from our database. Backups containing prior copies are rotated within 30 days. Subscription receipts and minimal billing records may be retained for the period required by tax, accounting, and Apple platform-policy rules.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We share data only in the following limited cases:
- With service providers we need to run the app — the hosting and infrastructure providers listed under "Third-Party Services" above, who process data on our behalf under contract.
- With other CrewFit+ users you choose to share with — for example, friends you connect with in-app can see activity you've shared, and run routes you submit for review may be published to other users after we review them.
- When required by law — to comply with a valid legal request or to protect the safety of our users.
- In a business transfer — if CrewFit+ is acquired or merged, your data may transfer to the successor entity, subject to this Privacy Policy.
Children
CrewFit+ is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights
Regardless of where you live, you can:
- Access and update most of your data inside the app.
- Delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings → CrewFit+.
- Cancel a subscription at any time in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by emailing support@crewfit.app.
- Contact us with any other privacy request at support@crewfit.app.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you also have the right under the GDPR to object to or restrict our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. Our legal bases for processing are: (a) contract — to deliver the app's features to you; (b) legitimate interests — to secure the service and fix bugs; and (c) consent — for optional features such as precise location, which you can withdraw at any time in iOS Settings.
If you are a California resident, you have the right under the CCPA/CPRA to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise any California right, email support@crewfit.app from the address on your CrewFit+ account.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls on our servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify users in-app or by email where appropriate.
